Pupil Premium Strategy 2021 - 2022

We have chosen to use Covid-19 Catch-Up Premium to support pupils in English & maths through small group interventions and one-to-one tutoring with qualified teachers.

The small group interventions sessions took place throughout the autumn term 2021 and the one-to-none tutoring is being held in the summer term 2022.

Pupil Premium Statement

The Governing Body and staff of Silloth Primary School believe that all our pupils should receive the highest quality first teaching.

Pupil Premium is additional funding that is paid to schools to provide additional support to children from low income families (those eligible for free school meals), Looked-After Children and children of parents in the armed forces, if they are falling behind with their education.

In making provision for socially disadvantaged pupils, we recognise that not all pupils who are socially disadvantaged are registered or qualify for free school meals. We reserve the right to allocate the Pupil Premium funding to support any pupil or groups of pupils the school has legitimately identified as being 'disadvantaged'.

Pupil Premium funding will be allocated following a needs analysis which will identify priority classes, groups or individuals. Limited funding and resources means that not all children receiving free school meals will be in receipt of Pupil Premium interventions at one time. The groups and individuals identified for support may change over the academic year.

Sillloth Primary School has a separate budget line for the Pupil Premium and ensure that the impact of this spending is monitored carefully and reported to the Governing Body, parents and Ofsted.
